Heart Patients Day Trip to Largs

More than 40 patients from the Royal Alexandra Hospital recently enjoyed a fun day trip to Largs, all in aid of keeping a healthy heart.

The special event was organised by Have a Heart Paisley's 'Health at Heart Centre' staff to help current patients of the cardiac rehabilitation service try out new activities that will keep them active.

The group took part in a ten-pin bowling competition in the morning.  In the afternoon, some people played mini golf, whilst others enjoyed a walk along the front.

“At the Centre, exercise is a large part of the patients’ recovery process and we wanted to show patients other ways of remaining active outside of the classes, said Mhairi Campbell, Cardiac Rehabilitation Co-ordinator at the Health at Heart Centre. “The outing to Largs was a great way of showing people the types of enjoyable activities they can take part in and walking is something that everyone can get involved in, regardless of age and ability.”
