Tasters at the Tannahill

There were treats in store at Ferguslie Park's Tannahill Centre recently.

At health initiative Have a Heart Paisley's 'taster' morning, delicious healthy food and a whole range of activities were on offer.  Local people had the chance to find out how fit or unfit they were with a quick fitness assessment and could even have their blood pressure taken at the mini health checks.

“The event marked the start of a new service specifically for the people of Ferguslie Park,” explained Have a Heart Paisley’s Heather Sloan. “The Health Check initiative offered to the people of Paisley last year is now being run at the community wing of the Tannahill Centre. Basically, everyone living in Ferguslie Park who was born between 1945 and 1960 can come along and have a free health check.”

“We’re really keen to hear local people’s views on what they’d like to see in Ferguslie Park which could help them be a bit healthier,” said Heather. “The area now has its own Have a Heart Paisley team and we’re based in Flag Room 3 at the Tannahill Centre, so if anyone missed out on the event, they can catch us there!”
